How do I translate a form into another language?
Last updated: July 8, 2026
Add languages to a form, generate translations with AI, and publish each language so employees can complete the form in the language they're most comfortable with.
Before you start
Translations are edited on a draft form version. Once a version is published, its translations page is read-only — create a new draft version first. See 📄 How do I edit a published form by creating a new draft version?
Steps
Add a language
Open your form's draft version and go to
Translations.
Click
Select a language to add...and choose the language you want to offer. The language appears in the languages table with a draft status.Note that the language must be supported on the Organization level in order to appear in the drop-down.
Generate translations with AI
Select the language in the table. Its field translations appear below — you can view up to two languages side by side, and each language shows how many of the form's fields have translations.
Click the AI icon on the language, then choose a source language in the
Translate with AIdialog. The source is usually English — the language you built the form in.Confirm to generate. Onboarded translates every field from the source language into the target language.
Review the generated translations. AI output is a strong starting point, but spot-check anything compliance-heavy — legal acknowledgment text, tax terminology, signature disclosures.
Publish the language
Open the language's row menu and click
Publish. The language's status changes from draft to published.
If you edit the form's fields after generating translations, the new or changed fields don't translate automatically — the language's translated-field count will fall short of the form's total. Rerun Translate with AI and republish the language before you deploy the version, or employees will see untranslated fields.
Verify
In the languages table, every language you plan to offer shows a published status, and its translated-field count covers all fields on the form. If a count comes up short, select the language, rerun Translate with AI, and publish it again.
