How do I distribute a policy to connected accounts?
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Send a policy from your platform account to your connected accounts so their placements match it, keep it in sync as you change it, and confirm it landed.
Before you start
Your account is a platform account. You'll see
Connected AccountsandBulk connectat the top of your sidebar. You have a policy on your platform account. See π How do I build a policy? if you don't have one yet, and π Understanding policies for how policies decide which forms are assigned.
The forms the policy assigns are distributed separately. Send those first. See π How do I distribute a form to connected accounts?.
Distribute one policy
Go to
Policiesand open the policy.Click the
Connecttab. You'll see every connected account, with its

In the bar that appears, choose
Auto Deployin the mode picker and clickApply. The

With Auto Deploy, every change you publish to the policy reaches those accounts automatically. The policy's task actions go with it.
The same bar has three one-time actions:
Deploy now: sends your current published version immediately and overwrites any edits the account made. The mode doesn't change.Remove distribution: stops sending updates. The account keeps the policy and its task actions, and can edit them from then on.Recall: withdraws the policy and its task actions from the account. Future placements no longer match it.
To see every policy's setup at a glance, open the Connect tab on the Policies list.
Distribute several policies at once

What the connected account can do
A policy on Auto Deploy shows This policy is managed by your platform account and cannot be edited here. The account can't edit it, delete it, or copy it to the other mode.
The account can still turn it off with Disable Policy. A policy the account turned off stays off when you deploy a new version.
Disabling the policy on your platform account stops distribution. A disabled platform policy isn't sent to anyone, and accounts show Skipped with The platform version is disabled. Turn it back on and it's distributed again.
Verify
Go to Connected Accounts, open an account, and click its Policies tab. Each policy you distributed shows its Distribution mode, the Deployed version, and Distributed in the Distribution column.
To confirm it works end to end, click Impersonate Account and create a test placement that matches the policy's rules. The forms the policy assigns appear on the placement.
If something didn't land:
The result is
Failed. ClickView activityon that row to see the error, thenRetry. A common one isA task action this policy uses has no published version.TheFailed Distributiontab onConnected Accountslists every failure from the last 14 days. The placement is missing a form. The policy reached the account, but the form didn't. Distribute the form to that account.
A new account didn't get the policy. The default only applies to accounts connected after you set it. Apply the mode to that account directly.
Policy Distribution strategies are no longer in the sidebar. Each policy's Connect tab is now the place to see which accounts receive it.
